Xavier Institute of Social Service

Xavier Institute of Social Service offers a two-year, full-time postgraduate diploma in management that has been approved by the AICTE. In order to educate young people in Rural Development, Personnel Management, and Industrial Relations, the Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) was founded in 1955 as an outgrowth of St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi. We picture a center for academic achievement working to build a just, peaceful, and reconciled society. Mission: To become India’s top management school by providing a variety of academic, research, outreach, and social participation programs. fostering the development of leaders who are committed to sustainable development and the empowerment of the disadvantaged.

The Central Placement Cell, under the direction of the Chief Coordinator, manages the campus placement of XISS students. It functions in tandem with student-run departmental placement cells. The senior faculty members from the individual departments serve as the departmental placement cells’ leaders.

The Department of Research and Planning was created as a separate department with the goal of assisting the oppressed and marginalized groups in society to obtain justice and to have a role in the creation of programs and policies that affect them. In this regard, the department has been working tirelessly to carry out the National Policy on Rehabilitation and Resettlement in order to protect the interests of landowners in receiving fair compensation and to simultaneously pave the path for societal growth. Through its research findings, the department has played a crucial role in upholding the rights of the displaced and advancing the cause of the voiceless, weak, and vulnerable groups including tribal, Dalit, and minority ethnic groups.
