UPUMS

The Uttar Pradesh Government established the UPUMS, Saifai in 2016 as an affiliating, teaching, and research university after reconstituting the 2005-founded Uttar Pradesh Rural Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Saifai.

The University shall be composed of five faculties, namely, Medical, Dental, Paramedical Sciences, Nursing, and Pharmacy, according to the Uttar Pradesh Extraordinary Gazette, published on May 17, 2016. The university also provides MD/MS/MDS and M.Ch programs in a variety of specializations and superspecialization courses in medicine, in addition to undergraduate degrees in paramedical sciences, nursing, pharmacy, and medicine. Additionally, the university offers postgraduate degrees through its faculties of dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and paramedicine. Additionally, the university offers paramedical and nursing diploma programs that are associated with the State Medical Faculty in Lucknow. 250 faculty members work in several academic divisions across the university. The academic departments use cutting-edge infrastructure to conduct patient treatment, teaching, training, and research.

UPUMS operates a fully functional, 1050 bed tertiary care hospital with a 150 bed trauma and burn center. Non-academic support departments from a variety of services, including paramedical, hospital, engineering, ministerial secretarial, etc., contribute their best work to ensure the management of patient care services in order to deliver the best possible healthcare. The University supports medical and scientific research through a number of programs, as well as intra-mural and extra-mural projects, in addition to providing education. The University is located approximately 7 km from the Agra-Lucknow motorway, 20 km from NH-2, and approximately 20 km from the closest railroad station, Etawah Junction. It also has excellent access to both roads and the railway network.
