Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya

The oldest college in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, is Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, founded in 1967. It provides undergraduate and graduate programs in business, the arts, and science. A connection to Pondicherry University exists. The Union Territory of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands’ first degree-granting institution, it launched higher education in the area. The College has a continually expanding infrastructure as forethought to the development of the College and implementation of more and more courses.

In addition to outstanding athletic infrastructure, the Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya features large classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, lecture rooms, computer centers, and a zoological museum. The college places a strong emphasis on providing quality education so that our students can compete at the national and international levels in the current liberalization, privatization, and globalization environment. The College places a high priority on maintaining order on campus and in the hostels. Any form of racial harassment is prohibited in this institution. Students shouldn’t engage in such harmful behavior. In order to develop the intellectual, moral, spiritual, and physical aspects of their personalities, students are instructed to make the best use of the college’s resources and facilities.

The Boys and Girls Hostel has residential amenities for students traveling from far-off islands. Currently, the Boys Hostel can accommodate about 250 students, while the Girls Hostel can accommodate about 250 girls. Additionally, free mess facilities are offered to the hostellers. Three large computer centers are available at the college, one for postgraduate students and two for undergraduate ones. The Computer Center offers computer education to many faculties and provides Internet access. For the PG and UG students, CDs on various themes are shown using an LCD Multimedia projector.
