Institute of Dental Sciences Jammu

The first private dental college in Jammu and Kashmir to receive DCI approval is the Institute of Dental Sciences, Jammu, which is a part of the University of Jammu. It was founded in 2006 and was reaccredited in 2023 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has produced almost 1000 dentists, all of whom have brought honour to the institution by providing superior services to the field of oral health care and research both domestically and abroad. The institute follows a well-developed approach to promote student-centered learning and a strong commitment to the social purpose of the community, as well as an outcome-based course curriculum.

Since 2006, the Institute of Dental Sciences has offered a 5-Year Bachelor of Dental Surgery programme that is Institute of Dental Sciences Jammu-approved. The only accredited and highly qualified dental programme in India is the BDS. The five-year undergraduate programme prepares students for the prestigious field of dental science and surgery. The program’s underlying values are discussed in detail in the goals of the programme. The college’s primary responsibility to the stakeholders is to provide academic flexibility, a student-centered learning environment, community responsiveness, and graduate employability.

IDS faculty members are professionally qualified, competent, and experienced with a wealth of knowledge in clinical practise, teaching, and research. In the peer-reviewed and indexed journals, they consistently publish a variety of studies. The curriculum is updated as needed by the faculty by bringing innovation to its content, coverage, level, and practise dimensions.
Each student is guaranteed help from the institute as needed. To keep an eye on staff and student behaviour on campus, many committees are constituted. There are wheelchair facilities and disabled-friendly restrooms available for patients and students who are physically challenged. For situations involving a medical emergency, the school has a health centre.
