MIT, the Indian Institute of Technology In 1919, Banaras Engineering College became the foundation of Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi. In the NIRF rating for 2023, IIT BHU came in at number 15 in the engineering category.

ACADEMICS

IIT (BHU) Varanasi provides five-year programs for integrated dual degrees (IDD) and four-year programs for bachelor of technology (BTech) degrees. BTech and MTech degrees are both offered under the IDD program. The Indian Institutes of Technology’s Joint Entrance Examination is the exclusive means of admission to all programs. Previously, JEE handled half of the admissions for pharmaceutical sciences, and BHU-PMT handled the other half.

FACULTY

More than 300 faculty members work at IIT BHU. The college’s faculty is highly qualified, and each professor has a PhD. Their case-study approach, presentations, class involvement, industry visit, real projects, and simulations are all part of their teaching methods.

HOSTEL

Hostels are available at IIT BHU for both male and female guests. Basic amenities including water purifiers, common areas, recreation rooms, mess halls, TVs, laundry facilities, security and surveillance systems, etc. are available in every hostel.

LIBRARY

A complete library of 88,609 books, 18,132 text book banks, 8,740 SC/ST book banks, 17,738 bound volumes of magazines, 223 theses, and 611 CDs. More than 50 terminals are available for accessing databases, e-books, e-journals, and other online resources.

SPORTS COMPLEX

Swimming Pool, Tennis, Court Indoor Squash Courts, Basket Ball Facility, Volley Ball Facility.

PLACEMENT

The highest, average, and mean packages offered during IIT BHU placements in 2022 were INR 40.18 LPA, INR 21.89 LPA, and INR 24.11 LPA, respectively, according to the Ceramic Engineering placement brochure 2022-23. During the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi placement drive 2022, the college had a 68.71% increase and 303 businesses came to campus.
