IIIT Surat

IIIT Surat, One of the Indian Institutes of Information Technology. The Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat , was founded by the MHRD in Surat, Gujarat, under a PPP model. On February 5, 2020, the Institute received the designation of Institute of National Importance (INI). At the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), IIIT Surat is currently working out of temporary quarters. The Gujarat State Government and industry partners Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers & Chemicals, Gujarat Gas, and Gujarat Informatics jointly support the IIIT Surat on a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has established twenty Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT), on a not-for-profit Public Private Partnership basis, to solve the problems encountered by the Indian IT Industry & expansion of the domestic IT Market. The academic pursuits of SVNIT and IIIT-Surat are coordinated in time.

The President of India, the Governor of the State of Gujarat, and industry partners Gujarat Narmada Fertiliser Corporation (GNFC), Gujarat Informatics Limited (GIL), and Gujarat Gas Limited (GAL) have signed a memorandum of understanding and a memorandum of association. Following a series of meetings at MHRD, the Gujarat State Directorate of Technical Education and SVNIT, Surat, proposed.

The new academic building was constructed on land that the Gujarati government allotted near Kamrej in the Surat region. In the near future, the campus will construct its further facilities. The building houses the Institute’s essential infrastructure.

The JEE MAINS Entrance Exam is required for admission to the aforementioned courses. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) handles counselling and seat allocation.

Only B.Tech courses in computer science engineering and electronics and communication engineering are now available at the institute.
