The DY Patil University (DYPU) bears the name of its celebrated and forward-thinking founder, Dr. Dnyandeo Yashwantrao Patil. Dr. Patil, a padmashree awardee known for his philanthropy and social service, had a vision to provide quality education to the nation’s ever-growing, aspirant youth who wanted to pursue careers in fields like engineering and medicine. As a result, the D Y Patil University stands as a testament to the founder chancellor’s twin goals of excellence in education and healthcare.
