It bears the name of Dhirubhai Ambani, a businessman from Gujarat and the man who founded the Reliance organisation. It is promoted by the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and managed by the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation.In the IIRF Ranking 2023 for private universities, Institution came in top.
With an enrollment of 240 undergraduate students for its Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) programme in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), DA-IICT started accepting students in August 2001. Since then, it has grown to offer postgraduate programmes including a Master of Technology in Information and Communications Technology (M.Tech. ), a Master of Science in Information Technology (M.Sc. ), a Master of Science in Information Technology (ICT) in Agriculture and Rural Development, a Master of Design (M. Des. ), and a Ph.D..

A doctorate programme is the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). The bachelor’s programme takes four years to complete. The first group of DA-IICT postgraduates and graduates graduated in 2004 and 2005, respectively. When compared to other private universities in India, fees are minimal.
Joint Entrance Examination – Main and a state exam administered by the ACPC in Gujarat are used to determine admission.
