Assam Agricultural University

In the entire North-Eastern Region of India, Assam Agricultural University is the first institution of its sort. This institution’s main objective is to create human resources for the agricultural sector that are globally competitive. Also, it conducts research in both traditional and uncharted territory to optimize production. Further, it disseminates the developed technologies as a public good to the sector’s food producers, traders, and growers while placing a strong emphasis on sustainability, equity, and overall food security at the household level.

The Rev. B M Pugh Library, which is the information hub for agriculture and related fields, was founded in 1969. It is situated in the university’s administrative building in Jorhat. It benefits the entire university community in general as well as the students, teachers/scientists, research scholars, and other staff of the colleges.

In 1998, the Assam Agricultural University established its Training and Placement Cell. To meet the needs of its students for the advancement of their careers,  Training & Placement Cell is a crucial part of the institution. The cell arranges training sessions on subjects including leadership, communication skills, and personality development. Campus interviews and placement in different governmental and non-governmental organizations are made easier by the cell. Moreover, many of this university’s graduate and postgraduate students have been hired by numerous businesses that are engaged in research and development, business, banking, agriculture, veterinary science, home science, and related fields, all of which offer undergraduate and graduate programs.
