Lady Shri Ram College for Women

The college was started at a school building in Daryaganj, Central Delhi, in 1956 by the late Lala Shri Ram in honor of his wife Phoolan Devi (Lady Shri Ram), with 299 students, nine faculty members, and four support staff. In South Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar, the college is now housed on a 5-acre (20,000 m2) site.

ACADEMICS

LSR houses 3270 students on a sizable 15-acre campus in South Delhi. LSR comprises 16 academic divisions and around 98 faculties. The late industrialist and philanthropist Dr. Bharat Ram, who served as the college’s inspirational chairman, inspired students to excel in their studies and extracurricular activities.

FACILITIES

HOSTEL

About 300 students can stay in the hostel’s 200 rooms. It offers college wifi connection around-the-clock. The hostel has a common area with a television and sound system. For the use of the students, the hostel also has an infirmary with basic medications.

LIBRARY

The LSR library has equipped a large selection of books. It has around 1 lakh books and 150 national and international periodicals on subscription. The library has totally computerized with the LIBSYS management system.

SPORTS

For the benefit of their pupils’ health, LSR promotes athletics. Students can participate in a variety of sports, including golf, equestrian, archery, badminton, basketball, chess. Air rifle and air pistol shooting, swimming, volleyball, squash, judo, lawn tennis, and table tennis.LSR schedules regular yoga and aerobics courses.

PLACEMENT

Lady Shri Ram College knows the technique of placing people from a college or organization to expose them to professional employment, which benefits both parties. The Lady Shri Ram College Placement Cell acts as a liaison between employers seeking candidates and students. The Lady Shri Ram College Placement Cell brings a diverse group of recruiters to campus for placements and also arranges conferences, seminars, and internship opportunities for the students.
