Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU)

Through the State Act passed on April 4, 2007, GERMI founded Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), formerly Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), as a private university. The institution is close to GIFT City and is situated in the Knowledge Corridor neighbourhood of Gandhinagar city’s Raysan village. Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat, is 23 km away while Gandhinagar, the state capital, is 8 km away.

The Government of Gujarat has designated Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) as its “Centre of Excellence Status” (in Principle), making it the top-ranked private university in the state of Gujarat.

The university also has a 1-megawatt solar power facility on its property. The Gujarati government has chosen to partner with Maruti Suzuki to invest Rs. 150 crores (US$ 25 million) towards the establishment of an international centre of excellence in the automotive industry at PDPU.

The four schools of PDEU provide undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes in management, the humanities, science, and engineering at the undergrad, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.

Programmes in upstream and downstream petroleum engineering are available through the School of Petroleum Technology, which was founded in 2007.
Engineering B.Tech. programmes are available in mechanical, automotive, electrical, civil, chemical, information and communication technology, and computer engineering at the 2010-founded School of Technology. In the same streams, it also provides M.Tech. and Ph.D. programmes. Additionally, an M.Tech. in Nuclear Technology is available. Additionally, it provides Ph.D. and M.Tech. programmes in solar engineering.

Business Administration, Economics, English Literature, International Relations, Public Policy & Administration, Psychology, Mass Communication, Commerce, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics are among the UG honours degree programmes in Humanities, Management, Science, and Commerce offered by the 2009-founded School of Liberal Studies. Additionally, it provides Ph.D. programmes in the same fields as well as MA programmes in English literature, public policy & administration, and international relations.
