National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI),

The Imperial Institute for Animal Husbandry & Dairying, founded in Bangalore in 1923, evolved into the National Dairy Research Institute. With more than 93 years of existence, this Institute has grown to occupy a preeminent position as a national center for advancing dairying via research and teaching that meets the demands of India and other emerging countries in Asia and Africa in terms of human resources.

ACADEMICS

A little-known course is dairy technology. Many people are not aware that such courses exist, despite the fact that milk and dairy products are a prominent part of Indian culture. I ultimately chose this course above others because I was curious to learn what this four-year program has to offer.

FACULTY

The professors are all highly educated. They all hold doctoral degrees. They instruct UG and PG students, and they also have their own research projects to complete. The industrial experience that each faculty member has, which they share with us and is very beneficial to us, is at least five years.

HOSTEL

Boys’ and girls’ hostels are offered separately at NDRI Karnal. The institute has five fully furnished dorms for boys. The dormitories guarantee the students’ comfort by offering them all the current conveniences, including tastefully decorated rooms, Wi-Fi access, common areas, and study areas. The dorm has completely installed CCTV for the students’ safety.

LIBRARY

The NDRI Karnal library offers a large selection of books, magazines, and national and international journals on dairying and other relevant topics. The institute subscribes to international and domestic journals to stay current on scientific and technological advancements. Bound journals, bulletins, theses, CD-ROMs, microfilms, and copies in books and volumes are other available materials.

PLACEMENT

A placement unit at the National Dairy Research Institute in Karnal oversees all operations related to the recruitment effort. According to the NIRF data from 2023, 222 out of a batch of 228 students are eligible to participate in the NDRI Karnal placement drive.
