Faharaj Rashtrasant Tukadoji Public state university Nagpur University (RTMNU), originally Nagpur University, is situated in Nagpur, Maharashtra. It is the second-oldest university in Maharashtra and among the oldest in all of India. It bears the name of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj, a Vidarbha-born spiritual figure, public speaker, and musician. The institution belongs to both the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the Association of Indian Universities.
With 39 Postgraduate teaching departments (PGTD) and three constituent colleges (the Law College, College of Education, and Laxminarayan Institute of Technology), the university is made up of the Faculties of Arts & Humanities, Science, Social Sciences, Home Science, Medicine, Commerce, Education, Engineering & Technology, Law, and Ayurveda.Over seven campuses, there are buildings for the departments and the college.

It was ranked 144 among engineering colleges in 2020 by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
Its authority covers the four districts of Bhadra, Gondia, Nagpur, and Wardha.

There are roughly 402068 books, 12810 theses, 14313 manuscripts, and 184 subscribed journals at the university. For its students, the university offers an online public access catalogue (OPAC) and e-journals (UGC in Fonet Consortium) with the number 9155.
