Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, which was founded in 1976.  With the aim of promoting inter-disciplinary higher education and research with a focus on studies of environmental, ecological, and life sciences, is quickly moving up the educational ladder to become one of the top universities in the country.

It is now a recognized university and has a noteworthy history in academics, research, literacy, extracurricular activities, and athletics. It also has anything to do with education. The institution currently has 38 Post-Graduate Departments besides 11 Faculties. Ten districts in Southern Haryana fall under with the University’s territorial jurisdiction.

LIBRARY

This year, both the state and the nation as a whole. The Swami Vivekananda Library, which bears his name, has made a name for itself among the University’s constellation of buildings. All of the Departments/Institutes/Directorates, hostels, and residential areas are within easy reach of the spectacular library building, which blends a practical construction, elegance, and exquisiteness. .

The 1,10,000 square foot building can house more than 4 lakh volumes of books and bound journals in its stack areas. It also has 13 Scholars’ Rooms, a Committee Room-cum-Videoconferencing Hall, and Reading Halls with a total capacity of 2463 readers, including the 24-hour Reading Halls with a capacity for 1650 readers. The Library contains five auxiliary libraries in addition  the Hotel.

FACILITIES

At Maharshi Dayanand  University, students have access to all the equipment they need. Men’s and women’s dorms, a canteen, an auditorium, in addition other amenities are all part of MDU Rohtak.  Students can also take part in athletics and others too. The school contains a lawn tennis court, a basketball court, a wrestling room, a kabaddi room, a judo room, a squash room, and other amenities. MDU Rohtak has a sizable, well-equipped auditorium for a variety of events and cultural activities.

Residence halls assist students with their accommodation requirements. Canteen offers delicious and healthy food at reasonable prices.
