A public technological institute in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India is called the Indian Institute of technological Kanpur (IIT Kanpur). Under the Institutes of Technology Act, the Indian government designated it as an Institute of National Importance. One of India’s most esteemed academic institutions is IIT Kanpur.

CAMPUS

Nearly 420 hectares (1,000 acres) in size, IIT Kanpur is situated on the Grand Trunk Road, 15 kilometers (9.3 mi) west of Kanpur City. The Uttar Pradesh government provided this land in 1960, and the institute moved to its current location in March 1963.

ACADEMICS

A total of 301 courses are available at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, of which 206 are certificates and 95 are degree-granting programs. B.Tech. and B.S. programs at IIT Kanpur are undergraduate programs that run four years. The college also provides dual degrees in many other fields, including B.Tech., M.Tech., M.Sc., and Ph.D. The PG programs of IIT Kanpur offer M.Tech, M.S., M.Sc., M.B.A., and M.Des.

FACILITIES

HOSTEL

The dormitories of the campus provide roomy, well-ventilated rooms. Every hostel contains amenities like a reading room, computer room, and a place for playing table tennis. Visitors to the hostels can stay in separate rooms. Every hostel has a mess to satisfy students’ appetites. The on-campus lady hostels provide tastefully decorated rooms for students to stay in. Girls’ hostels offer basic amenities including reading rooms, halls, mess halls , for the comfort of the students.

LIBRARY

There is a broad selection of books, journals, theses, etc. at the P.K. Kelkar Library. The library also offers books, magazines, newspapers, etc. The library offers a roomy reading area with central air conditioning.

PLACEMENT

The Students’ Placement Office (SPO) at IIT Kanpur serves as a facilitator for various hiring and placement-related procedures. The institute SPO offers a variety of services in conjunction with the Career Development Cell (CDC), including student training, resume shortlisting, scheduling, and conducting job interviews.
