Indian Institute of Mass Communication Regional Centre Jammu

In order to expand across the country, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication opened the Northern Regional Centre in Jammu in 2012. The centre started off with 15 students in the first batch and was based out of Vikas Bhawan at Railhead Complex. Gandhi Nagar is the location of the dormitory and guesthouse (for visiting academics).

In order to build the permanent campus, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir was given 123 Kanaal (about 15 acres) in the Keran, Bantalab neighbourhood of Jammu in 2016. On February 3, 2019, the campus’ foundation stone was laid by the honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The structure is still being built by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting’s Civil Construction Wing (CCW), which is based in Jammu.

The building is progressing quickly and should be finished by the end of the year. The administration building, dorms for boys and girls, and faculty housing are all located on the permanent campus.

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication Regional Centre Jammu will establish international standards for media education, research, extension, and training while utilising cutting-edge technology to create a knowledge-driven information society that supports participatory democracy, human empowerment, and pluralism.

The Disciplinary Committee will monitor student adherence to the Code of Discipline & Conduct and will recommend appropriate action in the event of a violation.

The Regional Director of the Campuses shall offer assistance to the Disciplinary Committee in cases involving Regional campuses.
