All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jodhpur

An academic medical centre and public university, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jodhpur (AIIMS Jodhpur; IAST: Akhil Bharatiya Aayurvigyan Sansthan Jodhpur) is located in Jodhpur, India. It is a Nationally Important Institute. It was founded in 2012 and, like the other five All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), runs independently under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The institute’s mission is to provide models for accessible, high-quality healthcare through innovations while also fostering excellence in medical education, research, and patient care. The AIIMS Act, 1956 also governs All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jodhpur.

On August 27, 2012, the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Bill, 2012, was presented to the Lok Sabha. The AIIMS (Amendment) Bill, 2012 was approved by Lok Sabha on August 30, 2012. On September 3, 2012, the AIIMS (Amendment) Bill, 2012 was introduced in the Rajya Sabha. The six AIIMS began operations in September 2012 after the Rajya Sabha approved the AIIMS (Amendment) Bill, 2012 on September 4. All AIIMS are required to provide training for a variety of courses (MBBS, MD/MS, DM/MCH, BSc Honours in Nursing, MSc, MPH, PhD), and they are all public teaching hospitals. Joint Programme in MedTech is another programme that AIIMS Jodhpur offers in conjunction with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur.
Beginning in 2013, AIIMS began accepting applications from 60 BSc Nursing(Hons.) and 100 MBBS students.At the AIIMS Jodhpur, outdoor patient (OPD) services started on July 27, 2013.Beginning in 2016, the departments of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Community Medicine, and Family Medicine at AIIMS began offering MD programmes.

In its special Saturday sessions, the AIIMS Jodhpur Model of Medical Education uses Unconventional Learning Experiences (UNCLE) to deliver competency-based medical education.
