Banaras Hindu University

Banaras Hindu University, located in the holy city of Varanasi, is a globally renowned temple of learning. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, with the collaboration of outstanding people such as Dr. Annie Besant, formed this creative and imaginative university in 1916. The Banaras Hindu University Act of 1915 established the institution. It played an important role in the freedom movement and has grown to become India’s most important center of learning. It has produced many famous freedom warriors and architects of modern India and has made significant contributions to the nation’s progress through a vast number of notable intellectuals, artists, scientists, and technicians who have passed through its doors.

CAMPUS

The main campus of this prestigious Central University is 1300 acres in size, with well-kept roads, considerable vegetation, a temple, an air strip, and architecturally pleasing buildings. The military established the campus’s Air Field to provide training for pilots during WWII. The institution will build another campus over 2700 acres in the Mirzapur district of Barkachha. Six institutes, fourteen faculties, 144 departments, four inter discipline centers, a constituent college for women.

FACILITIES

The university offers a huge playground, a large theater and several auxiliary services and units such as Printing Press. The University family consists of over 15000 students from various walks of life, castes, religions, and races. Approximately 1700 teachers, and roughly 8000 non-teaching personnel. A considerable number of students from other nations, including the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, come to study here.

FACULTY

Companies such as L&T, Wipro, Infosys, Mahindra Finance , and ICICI Prudential come to school to provide job opportunities. Companies like BYJUS, Stay On  and others hire deserving candidates who have been exposed to holistic development at college.
